About the Show

The perfect addition to any cultural learning activities
World-renowned Mohamed Bangoura (AKA Bangourake) masterfully weaves story-telling with traditional music, song and dance to bring the culture of West Africa to school students.

Full of charisma and with a natural ability to captivate audiences, Bangourake interacts with students as he takes them on the journey of his life as a Griot. From the serene melodies of the kora (traditional African harp) to the intense power of the djembe drum, Bangourake will have students spellbound from start to finish.
