what we do and why
My philosophy is that everyone can learn music. And everyone should take part in 'musicking'. Yes, it is a word! It's a verb that encompasses all musical activity and suggests that music is not a thing, it's something you participate in.
When I was introduced to West African drumming, I realised I had been given the perfect vehicle for applying this philosophy.
There is something very special about the djembe and the traditional music of West Africa.
It will let you in; it will connect you to people; it will challenge you; and it will make you feel good.
It allows even the latest of bloomers to discover the joy of musicking!
