Fees and Refunds Policy

1. Group Class Fees
1. 1 Upfront Term Fee and Enrolment Priority
Students paying the upfront term fee are given priority (over students wanting to paying a weekly fee) when enrolling in Drum Effect group classes. A place in the class is secured when the upfront term fee is paid to Drum Effect (see payment options below) and Drum Effect confirms the enrolment by phone or email. Places are limited and people wanting to join the class should enquire about vacancies before paying a class fee. It is not necessary to enquiry about vacancies when booking in and paying via Drum Effect’s online shop. All term fee payments must be paid in full before or at the first class.
1.2 Casual Attendees – Weekly Fee
Depending on the number of term fee paying students enrolled in a group class, casual positions in the class may be available and those who have registered their interest in joining the class as a casual attendee will be notified. When enrolled as a casual attendee, the weekly fee must be paid at each class that is attended. The weekly fee is not refundable.
1.3 Cancellation of Classes
Occasionally classes have to be cancelled or rescheduled and in this case, we will endeavour to give you as much notice as possible. If you have paid a weekly fee for the cancelled class, the weekly fee will, at your option, be credited towards another class or refunded in full. If you have paid a term fee for the cancelled class, a portion of the term fee will be refunded to you.
1.4 Refunds of Class Fees
Once the term has commenced, fees paid are non-refundable* and non-transferable (unless a class is cancelled by Drum Effect). In particular, class fees cannot be used for private tuition fees.
Refunds for cancellations prior to the term commencing will be issued as follows:
Less than 48 hours notice – no refund
48 hours – 7 days notice – 50% refund
8 days to 14 days notice – 75% refund
More than 14 days notice – 100% refund
Note - The term is considered to have commenced at the start time of the week 1 class.
* In the event of extraordinary circumstances such as serious illness or injury, class fees may be refunded in full. This is at the discretion of the director.
1.5 Concessions
Concession rates for adult group class fees are offered to full-time students and full-time unemployed adults. The concession rate is a 25% discount off the usual fee. A concession card needs to be shown at the first class.
2. Workshop Fees
Places in workshops promoted or delivered by Drum Effect are secure when the workshop fee is paid to Drum Effect (see payment options below) and Drum Effect confirms the enrolment by phone or email. Places are limited; therefore, people making EFT payments should enquire about vacancies before transferring a workshop fee. It is not necessary to enquire about vacancies when booking in and paying via Drum Effect’s online shop.
